Photographers Justin Cook and Daniel Sircar posted the following letter as a Google Doc on January 31, 2018. More than 410 men (and a few women) signed the document, including 372 who signed openly and 38 who signed anonymously. The 372 who signed publicly as of February 18, 2018 are listed below.

We, the undersigned, are men in photography and video who want to change our industry for the better. We want to rid the industry of sexual harassment, sexual coercion, sexual assault and abusive behavior. We demand that the culture of silence and corporate policies that enable predatory behavior be changed.

We are sending this public letter to workshops, conferences, and leading organizations in photojournalism asking them to:

(1) put out public statements condemning sexual harassment and discrimination,

(2) outline the steps they are taking to review their current hiring policies and selection process for “gatekeepers,” and

(3) ban bad actors from their organizations to create a safe environment for all.
