Bob Stevens Shoots Los Ojos: Life on the Streets of Los Angeles

By Barbara Goldman

Robert, a recovering drug addict, who now works to help others.

Los Angeles-based advertising and documentary  photographer and director  Bob Stevens presents work from a series entitled "Los Ojos: Life on the Streets of Los Angeles."  Los Ojos is Spanish for the eyes, and through the eyes Stevens tells the stories of 12 recovering drug addicts and ex-gang members from East LA and how they were able to turn their lives around.  Pictured here is Robert, a recovered drug addict and ex-gang member  who is now working as  the Director of the same facility where he did  his rehab. Stevens presents these remarkable and inspiring  stories of redemption with elegance and simplicity.

See more with the behind-the-scenes  video of the "Los Ojos" documentary  project here.  Stevens is also  proud to be part of a project shooting images for the Covered California ad campaign.

CC is the California exchange of the Affordable Care Act and has enrolled thousands of people with little or no issues. Health care is now available to so many who could not afford it or were denied in the past because of pre-existing conditions.  See more work from Bob Stevens at his site.
