Dodd Camera was founded in 1891 in downtown Cleveland. Next month, they will continue their long tradition of serving photographers in Ohio with the opening of a new, 6,000 square-foot retail space and a 1,000 square-foot studio in Cincinnati. “Our grand opening is slated for late September. We expect to have representatives on hand from many of our vendors and manufacturers. When we have an event like this in Cleveland, it really is two days of over-the-top fun. We look forward to bringing that kind of excitement and energy to our new Cincinnati location,” says Dodd Camera’s Dennis Semick.
The studio will have a 26 x 33’ cyc wall with corner cove and a multi-level pricing structure to accommodate commercial shooters, advanced amateurs and students. “We would like for the studio to be an inviting and affordable space,” says Semick. The company’s Cincinnati location will provide the same extensive selection of well-maintained professional gear that photographers have come to associate with their Cleveland and Chicago locations. Dodd Camera Cincinnati is also cinema-ready. “Over the past several years, we’ve ramped up our video capabilities to stay ahead of the curve with the HDSLR revolution,” says Semick. “We’re well stocked with HMIs, tungsten kits and LEDs. If you're looking to do camera movements, we have sliders, jibs, dollies and a wicked contraption called a Cineped—you’ve really got to check this thing out.”
