December 02, 2008 Science isn't usually an editor's first inspiration when shaping a fall fashion issue. [...] when 7x7, the San Francisco lifestyle magazine, was granted exclusive access to the California Academy of Sciences' new 400,000-square-foot outpost in Golden Gate Park, the editors resolved to build stories for their fall fashion issue around scientific themes. Under the influence of Hiroshi Sugimoto's legendary 1976 "Dioramas" series, Almås and longtime stylist, Shannon Dunn, dreamed up the conceit of blending taxidermy and couture by designers such as Balenciaga.
