Object of Desire: Vanguard Sedona Camera Backpack

AUGUST 19, 2014

By Dan Havlik

Photographers always say they don’t want their photo bag to look conspicuously like a photo bag, and with the new Vanguard Sedona line, that’s not a problem. If you didn’t know any better, you might mistake the Sedona for a classic hiking backpack. The Sedona collection includes sling-style packs in two sizes, and traditional photo backpacks in three sizes, offering something for every type of photographer. Sedona bags can be easily converted from a full-gear photo backpack to a basic daypack, letting you use them for business or pleasure. A multiple hanging system with two higher front straps allows you to attach photo accessories such as tripods or monopods along with essential overnight gear, including a sleeping bag. The Sedona line has a rear-entry main compartment with protective padding to hold a digital SLR and a couple of lens and accessories. You can quickly access your gear by swinging the bag around while wearing the waist belt. Other handy features include a hydration pocket and an integrated safety whistle. The bags are clad in lightweight, ripstop nylon and come in black, brown, and blue.

PRICE: $99-$150
