Film, Digital, Black & White, Color: What's Better?

David J. Carol

People always argue about digital versus film and color versus black & white. Here's the thing.

Recently, I sold two prints to one person. One is black & white, shot on film and printed on gelatin silver paper. The other is color, shot on Kodachrome slide, scanned and printed digitally. Both look great and both images couldn't be more different. The only thing they have in common is they were both shot by me and they were both bought by one person.

My point: shut up and stop arguing about which format or process is better. Go out and take pictures anyway you want--digital, film, color or black & white. If it's good, everything is valid!
