EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Be Open and Available

David J. Carol

DAVID J. CAROL

Today, my goal is to be outside and open to taking a picture. I don't try to look for pictures because then I end up seeing "pictures" and not just seeing what's out there. For me, it's a fine line between looking for pictures and being available to take a picture. I'm not sure this makes sense, but it's what it feels like to me. The picture I'm illustrating this article with is something I noticed because I was open to seeing and not looking for a photograph. So today, I will put myself out there in an environment where something might happen. If I don't see anything, that's fine. I just might get one tomorrow.
